Inktober Day 7: Drip. Cormorants have mastered the “drip dry” technique. They spend a lot of time diving underwater to hunt for food. Their feathers are different from most birds in that they can become easily water-logged – which allows them to dive and maneuver underwater. But water-logged feathers need a special drying technique. Hence the drip-dry. They find some sun, spread their wings, and dry off.
